What is Wallet Pay?
Wallet Pay is a mobile payment solution that lets consumers make card payments at retail and online checkouts using certain smart devices.
How does it work?
The 16-digit Primary Account Number (PAN) on your credit or debit card is replaced with a unique digital account number, or token, that is securely stored on the device and used to make purchases. Your card number is not stored on your device, or on provider servers.
What devices can I use?
Wallet pay services are specific to your device provider. Check the individual app descriptions for the most up-to-date device list.
Can more than one credit/debit card be stored in the wallet?
Yes, options usually allow up to eight cards on a device.
How are cards loaded into the app?
You can decide which card(s) are loaded for use in one of two ways.
• Choosing to load the card on file through iTunes® or the Play Store
• Adding a card by taking a picture of it or manually entering the card details
Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use wallet pay?
Only for online purchases. For in-store contactless payments, you do not need to be connected to the Internet.
How is my information kept secure?
When adding a credit or debit card to to your "payment wallet," instead of using your actual card number, a unique digital account number, or token, is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in your device. This number is never stored on provider servers. When you make a purchase, the digital account number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is
used to process your payment. Your actual credit or debit card number is never shared with merchants or transmitted with payment.
Can I remove my card from my device?
Removing a card is simple. Just follow the instructions on the app. It is possible to remove a single card, or all cards at once, from one or multiple devices.
