MIT Federal Credit Union is proud to offer annual awards in support of our members in their educational and philanthropic pursuits.
Memorial Scholarship
MIT Federal Credit Union (MIT FCU) offers four (4) scholarships of $2,000 each through the annual Memorial Scholarship program to support our members in their educational pursuits and honor former staff and volunteers.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be an MIT FCU member in good standing or the child of an MIT FCU member in good standing.
- Applicant must be a rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior who will be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Applicant must submit:
- Scholarship Entry Form
- A typewritten essay of no more than 500 words in response to one (1) of the essay prompts listed on the entry form
- Official cumulative transcript
- Application must be received by March 13th, 2025.
Transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from your school. Photocopies, faxes, and online printouts are not permitted. Please mail to:

Selection Process
The MIT FCU Awards Selection Committee will select four (4) recipients based on the following criteria: quality of the essay, academic performance, financial need, and involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Winners will be notified by March 31st, 2025. An awards presentation will take place at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 17th, 2025.

People Helping People Award
The People Helping People Award is an annual recognition given to a member of the MIT and MIT Federal Credit Union (MIT FCU) communities who demonstrates exceptional compassion, enduring commitment to helping others, and a profound sense of social justice. The award includes a monetary prize of $2,500 for the recipient, as well as a $2,500 donation to a charity chosen by the winner.
Eligibility
Any member of the MIT community is invited to nominate another individual from within the MIT community who is also a member of MIT FCU. Nominator must complete the nomination form and the below questions.
Application must be received by March 13th, 2025.
Selection Process
The MIT FCU Awards Selection Committee will select the winner based on the above criteria. Winners will be notified by March 31st, 2025. An awards presentation will take place at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 17th, 2025.
